Slowing the Spread: How genomics can help us understand COVID-19
Thursday 26 November, 6-7.30pm  –
Online Talk (zoom)

If you are a Covid sufferer, a volunteer working with sufferers to try and make their lives a bit better, or just interested in how local scientists are helping in the fight against Covid 19.

You might like to join Dr Cordelia Langford and Prof Dominic Kwiatkowski (from the Wellcome Sanger Institute) in conversation with Dallas Campbell (presenter on both Bang Goes the Theory and The Sky at Night) as they discuss the impact of this vital collaborative effort and the challenges of doing groundbreaking science in times of social distancing, showing how local scientists are playing a significant part in the national fight against Covid.

The Talk is Free but you have to register in advance at: https://bit.ly/GenomeLates

#CancelCOVID

September 24, 2020 by careadmin

Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council are running a new #CancelCOVID campaign to remind us all how to reduce the level of  infection.

Unfortunately, the current rise in COVID19 cases in younger people is likely to be mirrored by a rise in cases in other sectors of society, so we must all do our best to control the spread of the virus.

The best way to reduce your chances of infection and of passing it on to others is to follow Government guidelines, so please:-

Wash hands regularly with soap and warm water, or use hand sanitiser

Wear a face covering when travelling on public transport and in shops, supermarkets and libraries, when moving between classes or lectures at school or college or when visiting others.

Keep your distance – staying at least two metres away from those you don’t live with, or where this really isn’t possible, one metre apart whilst taking extra precautions such as wearing a face covering
