30th November 2015
During September - November Care Network co-ordinated volunteers from Care Network and three other voluntary groups, to hand out informative ‘Winter Warmth’ packs produced by Cambridgeshire County Council, at GP surgeries while patients were attending for their ‘flu jab’. Our busiest day was Saturday 10th October when we attended 10 clinics throughout Cambridgeshire, and altogether 41 volunteers took part. Chatting to patients gave the opportunity to offer further information for specific circumstances, helping people to access other forms of community activity and support.
Diane, Clinical Performance Manager at North Brink Practice, Wisbech said ‘A big thank you to your volunteers, supplied to hand out the CCC Winter Warmth Packs at our last four Saturday Flu Clinics. They were very helpful and we greatly appreciate the additional support provided.’
