2016 was Care Network’s 30th Anniversary – our Pearl Anniversary – and we were determined to make the most of it. We used the year to celebrate the impact this small local charity has had on the lives of local people over a generation.
Some of the achievements of the last 30 years were highlighted in a short 30th Anniversary Impact Report. Showing how we have supported thousands of people after hospital stays, linked huge numbers of people with activities and services, enabled people to travel with a multitude of Car Schemes, and involved people in their communities in a variety of ways.
Volunteers and Staff at Girton College during Volunteers' Week.
Our strapline “People at the heart of everything” really sums up what the last 30 years was about and we wish to continue to celebrate that. In volunteer’s week we had an event for volunteers, staff and trustees at Girton College and the staff went for a celbration lunch at Christmas.
We joined up with Cambridge Arts Salon “Pearls of Wisdom” project.
This took wise sayings from older people and professional artists helped to turn these into artworks of all sorts including writing, painting, installations, and recordings. We displayed some of the Pearls of Wisdom artworks at our 30th AGM in October at Huntingdon Town Hall where lots of people came and celebrated with us.
